Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Europe to play in the Major League Soccer in March of this year. Where a lot of people explained this as a step back in his career, he went to Los Angeles with a suitcase filled with ambition. Zlatan wouldn’t be himself if he decided to take it easy in the United States. He wants to show the entire World that he is one of the best players the game has ever known.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic first MLS season
Zlatan has scored some amazing goals in his first MLS season, but he finished the season on a low and couldn’t cope with this drama. In the final MLS match of the regular season, LA Galaxy needed a win to qualify for the play-offs. LA Galaxy took a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to two goals scored by Ola Kamara. Fans of LA Galaxy where confident that their team was going to make it to the play-offs. Some of them even focussed on their mobile phone to play some online American casino games during the match. The phones went back in the pockets after 12 minutes in the second half when Romell Quioto scored for Houston Dynamo. LA Galaxy collapsed and two goals by Mauro Manotas brought the victory to Houston Dynamo.
No play-offs for LA Galaxy
LA Galaxy really needed to win this match to pass Real Salt Lake for a spot in the play-offs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was so frustrated after this disappointing results that he stormed out of the dressing room quickly after the match. It’s to be expected from someone who is used to win matches. Also in the MLS, Zlatan showed he’s still a very good football player. He scored 22 goals in 27 matches and assisted on 10 goals. One thing is for sure, he will get back even stronger at the start of next season. Zlatan always showed he knows how to bounce back from setbacks.
