Sami Khedira

Sami Khedira moves from Juventus to Hertha BSC

Sami Khedira has left Juventus for an adventure at Hertha BSC, the latter club confirms via official channels. Something that wasn’t expected by crazy vegas online casino. The 33-year-old midfielder has been in the capital of Germany since Saturday, where he successfully passed the medical examination on Monday. Hertha does not report for how many seasons Khedira has signed.

Khedira moves back to Germany

Technical director Arne Friedrich is pleased with the arrival of the German. “With Sami Khedira we have brought in a top player who has been under contract with top European clubs in recent years and who will directly help us with his experience from his matches in the Champions League, Serie A, LaLiga,” said Friedrich, who has in the past played together with Khedira. “We played together at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I know his leadership qualities and I am therefore very happy that we now have him under contract with Hertha BSC.”

Injuries

The former world champion struggled with various injuries in the past year, but has been fit again for a few months. Nevertheless, trainer Andrea Pirlo does not use his services: this season Khedira was never part of the match selection. Khedira still had an ongoing contract until the end of the season and, despite efforts from Juventus, did not want to have his contract dissolved prematurely.

No Premier League move

His return to the Bundesliga comes somewhat out of the blue, as Khedira hinted in December with The Athletic that he would like to play in the Premier League. Khedira returns to the German league after eleven years. Something that’s a surprise for the best online casinos. Incidentally, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reports that Mattéo Guendouzi, hired from Arsenal, will remain with Hertha until the end of the season.

In 2010, Khedira left then-employer VFB Stuttgart for an adventure with Real Madrid, where he played for five years. In 2015, the midfielder left the Spanish top club on a free transfer and signed with Juventus. With la Vecchia Signora he won five national titles, three Italian cups and the Italian Supercup. Khedira played the last match in the Juventus shirt in June 2020, when he entered Miralem Pjanic half an hour before the final whistle of the semi-final in the Coppa Italia against AC Milan.
