Salah and Liverpool writing history against Man United

Liverpool put on a true gala performance against Manchester United on Sunday evening. Erik ten Hag’s team was relegated and lost 7-0 at Anfield. Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are the eye-catchers in Liverpool’s team. With the home team, Gakpo started as a center forward in the starting eleven. Darwin Nuñez was left winger on the form and Mohamed Salah was right winger.

Pressure on Man United

It was already clear in the first half that the home team did not want to start calmly. The Liverpool players continued to put pressure on Manchester United’s eleven and the home side had several chances. The lead finally came in minute 43, because just before the break it was Gakpo who got the ball on the left. The attacker did not hesitate for a moment and worked the ball with control behind David de Gea.

Second half

After the break, Manchester United again did not come out of the dressing room strong and Liverpool eagerly took advantage of that. Two minutes after the break it was Nuñez who scored the 2-0. Then it was Gakpo’s turn again, who remained icy calm in minute 50 and put the 3-0 on the board for the home team. Manchester United had completely lost the north and remained sloppy and careless on the ball.

Salah writing history

It therefore went from bad to worse for Ten Hag’s team, because Salah also reached his goal. He blasted in the 4-0 and scored his 128th goal for Liverpool. As a result, he is now Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League alongside Robbie Fowler. Nuñez also scored two goals. With a measured header he scored the 5-0 and completed the malaise for the visitors. But Liverpool were not done yet. In the end, it turned out to be another unforgettable night of football for Salah. With his 6-0 against Manchester United, the Egyptian has now single-handedly scored the most goals ever for Liverpool in the Premier League. The final chord was for Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian attacker who will leave the club at the end of this season made the 7-0 for Liverpool.

Seven points gap

Due to this merciless swipe from Liverpool, Klopp’s team is now approaching number three Manchester United on seven points. The Reds are now in fifth place and are also only three points behind number four Tottenham Hotspur.
