Coupe de la Ligue

AS Monaco tried to score a valid goal in the second half, but they weren’t able to break through PSG’s defense. Five minutes before the end of the match it was Edison Cavani who scored his second goal of the match. This is PSG’s first prize of the season, but it’s definitely not the last one. Their have a big gap in the Ligue 1 and play in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France against Caen. The other semi-final is between National League side Les Herbiers and Chambly.

Even when they win both remaining trophies, the season is still failed for the French side. After buying the most expensive player (Neymar) in the world, they really needed to win the Champions League in order to make their season a success. The fact they haven’t won this European trophy, will probably mean the end of Unai Emery’s spell in Paris. Former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is named as a possible successor of Emery.
