Football transfers have been quiet for some time during the pandemic. Clubs had less income when they played for empty stadiums. So there wasn’t enough money to spent on new players. Now the virus isn’t influencing football anymore, clubs are spending loads of money again. Therefore we decided to take a look at the top 100 most expensive transfers.
Manchester City
Manchester City is the top buying club in this list. 15 of the top 100 players are bought by Manchester City. With a total value of almost 825 million GBP. An average of 45 million per player. A club like PSG leads the list with the two most expensive transfers. In total only 6 transfers in the top 100 are bought by Paris Saint-Germain. The value of 566 million is very impressive with only 6 players. An average of 94 million per player. Which is the highest average out of all clubs in this list.

Update 2023 winter transfer window
The 2023 winter transfer window is finally closed. It was a very special transfer window. Chelsea was the biggest player on the market. Four new transfers made it to the top 100 most expensive tranfers. Two of them are in the top 15. The new Chelsea signings Enzo Fernandez (6th place) and Mykhalo Mudryk (13th place), cost almost 200 GBP together. Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United) and Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) are in 96th and 99th place on the ranking. They will probably drop out of the top 100 next window.
