2018-2019 FPL season

My Fantasy Premier League team | First pick

This is the day many people were waiting for since the World Cup final. The start of the new football season. The English Premier League starts later today, so it’s about time everyone get’s their Fantasy Premier League team ready. It’s already two weeks ago since I created my first draft, but I keep changing things. At the moment I was finally happy with my team, one of the cheapest players in my team got sold. So I could start all over again. In this post I share my Fantasy Premier League team with you guys.

My fantasy Premier League team

I will discuss the players I have per position.

Goalkeepers

After a lot of thinking I decided to do a little test with my goalkeepers this season. David de Gea was my goalkeeper in the last couple of seasons, but this time I opted for two goalkeepers from the same club. Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg are my picks for the start of this season. Stekelenburg is a cheap option and he will play when Pickford is suspended or injured. I prefer the above two goalkeepers who both will play their matches, but are the more expensive option.

Defenders

The focus of my team is mainly on midfield and attack, so I went for some cheap defenders. Andrew Robertson is my only expensive defender. The cheap defenders in my team are Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Charlie Daniels, Zanka Jorgensen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. This gives me a lot of room to put some quality players in the front two lines.

Midfielders

I am very happy with the midfield players I’ve selected. After selecting some cheap options at the back, this is the part of my team where I was really able to get some quality players in. I started with Mohamed Salah, he has been out of my team in the last couple of weeks, but I just can’t start the season without Salah. Other midfield players are Jota, the Wolves players who mainly plays as a striker, Leroy Sane, Richarlison and Guendouzi. Arsenal’s talented French midfielder should become my surprise package. he belongs to the cheapest options on midfield, but he really impressed me during preseason. I believe he can do bits in Unai Emery’s team.

Attackers

The frontline of my team is supposed to score a lot of goals for me. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is my main striker. He scores for fun in preseason and I expect a lot of goals in the Premier League this season. Next to him are Roberto Firmino and Wilfried Zaha.

This is My Fantasy Premier League team. I tried to select none of the World Cup players that played until the final week of the tournament, because I don’t expect them to shine this early in the season.
