Cup tournaments are always good for some fairytale stories. This year it’s the Coupe de France that’s responsible for the fairytale of this season. The final of this domestic cup tournament, which will be played on the 8th of May. Paris Saint-Germain is the first team to play in this final, they can go for the domestic treble by winning this tournament. The opponents however is the fairytale story This Coupe de France final will be Les Herbiers v Paris Saint-Germain.

Les Herbiers is currently in 11th position in the National Ligue in France. This is the third tier in France football. Les Herbiers survived 7 rounds to enter this final, which is two more than PSG. In their road to the final they were very impressive and managed to beat Ligue 2 teams Auxerre and Lens amongst other. Now they get the chance to play against the stars of Paris Saint-Germain. They will play against a team they normally watch on the telly or play with on the Playstation.

If they really want to complete their fairytale, Les Herbiers needs to beat PSG and win the trophy. But I don’t think even the most positive Herbiers fan will believe in a shock like this. Best scenario would be to hold a clean-sheet as long as possible. An early goal by PSG would of course completely ruin this final. All by all I don’t think Les Herbiers’ players, staff and fans will even care about this. They will go to the Stade de France to play a final against the Ligue 1 giants. This is going to be a day they will never forget.
