Eredivisie Scout reports

Eredivisie Scout reports | Players to watch

The Eredivisie is a source of quality young players. As a Dutchman I watch a lot of matches so I decided to share my Eredivisie scout reports with you guys on a regular base. In this first report I talk about three players that I think will be in a big league soon.

Eredivisie scout reports

Matthijs de Ligt – Ajax

De Ligt is currently 18 years old and one of the best young centre backs in the world. He played the Europa League final at the age of 17. In that match he paired up with current Tottenham star Davinson Sanchez. As a true Ajax fan, I’ve seen a lot of good centre backs passing by. The three former Ajax CB’s at Tottenham among many other, but I haven’t seen one that was as good as De Ligt at his age. Rumours are already flying around on the internet, which link De Ligt to the biggest teams in the world. I personally hope he will stay for one more year, to make Ajax champions as the captain before he leaves our club. There is no doubt in my mind De Ligt will end up at the top of European football.

Hirving Lozano – PSV

Lozano is a 22 year old winger with a strong right foot. He’s pacy and knows how to dribble. Lozano came over to PSV in the summer of 2017 and he isn’t going to stay for a long time. He hit the ground running in Eindhoven and scored 16 goals in 27 league matches. I believe he will leave Eindhoven in the summer if he manages to play a strong World Cup tournament. He’s only downside is his bad temper. He received 7 red cards in his last two seasons. If he doesn’t get this under control, he will never reach his full potential.

Andre Onana – Ajax

Another Ajax player who has a great chance of playing in the top of Europe soon. Andre Onana is the goalkeeper of Ajax’ first team. He entered the team when Jasper Cillissen left to Barcelona. After two matches nobody in Amsterdam talked about Cillissen anymore. Onana is a very talented goalkeeper with an amazing reaction. I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves to a big leave during this summer transfer period.
