Today it’s Dutch Jupiler League D-Day. The last round of this competitions starts at 7.45 pm local time in The Netherlands. After a thrilling end of the season, three teams are still playing for title on the last day of this competition.
Dutch Jupiler League D-Day final matches
Jong Ajax versus MVV Maastricht
Jong Ajax is in the drivers seat in this competition. Ajax’ second team is on top of the table with 76 points. They play tonight against MVV who are on the 9th spot. A win in this match will give Jong Ajax the title in the Jupiler League. Ajax’ first team plays against AZ Alkmaar tomorrow, so some of the players who played a big part of this season in Jong Ajax, won’t play tonight. Even without players like Noussair Mazraoui, Jong Ajax should be able to win this match and become the first second team to win the Jupiler League.
Fortuna Sittard versus Jong PSV
Winning the league isn’t the most important thing for Fortuna Sittard. If Jong Ajax wins the league, they need to stay ahead of NEC Nijmegen to force promotion to the Jupiler League. All they need to do today is winning this match against Jong PSV, but that’s not as easy as it sounds. Jong PSV is fifth in the league and only lost one of their last nine matches. A draw could be enough for Fortuna to stay second, if NEC Nijmegen doesn’t win with 3 goals of more.
Fc Dordrecht versus NEC Nijmegen
NEC Nijmegen is currently in the worst position of the three title contenders. They need to rely on both their competitors to drop points to win the title. On top of that NEC is the only team with an away match. On the other side, they play against the number 13 who lost their last five matches.
The Dutch Jupiler League D-Day is going to be an interesting one for the football fans. Who’s going to win the league? Which team will force promotion? We will know it by the end of tonight!
