We’re all getting tired of this whole situation with Covid-19. People are dying due to this terrible virus. Everybody is still waiting for a vaccin to pop up soon. A vaccin will safe lives and is that brings everything back to normal. While governments are working on a plan to ease down the lockdowns all over the world, football associations are looking for ways to bring back football.
Covid-19 update football leagues
While the Dutch Eredivisie and French Ligue 1 are voided, several other leagues are finding their way to return. In this article I give an update on other leagues.
German Bundesliga
This is the first big league that’s coming back. Upcoming Saturday the whole football world will be in front of the television to watch some live football from the German Bundesliga. Die Kohlenpott derby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 will be the favourite match for many fans. It would be strange to watch this match without die Gelbe Wand, but it is what it is.
Belgium Jupiler Pro League
The Belgium Jupiler Pro League was the first one to finish the season. Club Brugge was called champions, but things have changed now. The Belgium football federation and the clubs involved are having meetings to discuss what to do with the current season. It would be very strange if they come back on their decision, but I can’t rule it out at this moment.
English Premier League
The best league in the world is looking for ways to continue their season. The current plans state a return of the Premier League on the first of June. Initially the plan was to play the season at neutral venues, but it looks like teams can play their home matches in their own stadiums. Newcastle United defender Danny Rose isn’t really happy with these plans.
