FC Midtjylland is not allowed to play the final group match against Liverpool in the Champions League in their own stadium, Die Welt reports on Thursday. According to the German newspaper, the game, which is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, will be played in the stadium of Borussia Dortmund. In a reaction in the Danish press, Midtjylland announced that it is still assuming that the match will be played ‘just’ in the MCH Arena in Herning.
Midtjylland forced by UEFA
The possible relocation of the match has to do with corona regulations in force in England. Upon their return from Denmark, the Liverpool players would have to be quarantined for a fortnight. UEFA and Liverpool have therefore looked for another location and found it in Germany. The European Football Association made a joint request with Liverpool to Dortmund to organize the match. The location of this match is not only important for the teams. Everyone who plays at SA Gambling sites would like to know where this match will be played too. Odds of this match will change depending on the match location.
Ajax and Atalanta unhappy
“It is true that Dortmund has been selected for the December 9 game. The game will be played without an audience,” a spokesman for the municipality is quoted by Die Welt. If the match does indeed finish in Signal Iduna Park, Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp will return to the stadium where he worked between 2008 and 2015. Ajax and Atalanta will probably not be happy with the change. The already eliminated Midtjylland could cause group leader Liverpool to lose points on the final day, but is now denied a home game. Liverpool has collected nine points, two more than pursuers Ajax and Atalanta. Midtjylland will first visit Atalanta next week.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with this match. If this match will be relocated betters my prefer to use online casino US instead of watching the match. The Danish team is convinced they will play the match at their own home ground. The UEFA believes this match will be relocated. Times are hard in this Covid-19 period, but the question is if Midtjylland should pay the price for the rules in England. Liverpool is of course one of the bigger teams in Europe and therefore the UEFA will do everything they can to help the Reds.
