Premier League top 5

Midweek round for Premier League top 5

The top 4 is the holy grail for many teams in the Premier League. Finishing within the first four means qualification for the Champions League. Now we’re heading to the end of the first half of this 2022-2023 Premier League season, it’s time to look at the teams at the top. This midweek round was a good week for three out of the Premier League top 5.

Premier League top 5 matches

In this post we briefly discuss the matches of the five teams in the top 5.

Arsenal versus Newcastle United

This is the match with two teams in the top 5. Arsenal leads the table, while Newcastle United is in third. Both teams are playing extremely well this season and perform above expectations. They struggled to break through each others defense in this match. Two teams with very a very good defensive line. Which made the 0-0 draw the most logical one.

Manchester United versus Bournemouth

Manchester United is slowly showing why the club did everything they could to get Erik ten Hag as their manager. Man United fans had giving up on Marcus Rashford in the last few years. But now he’s showing bits of potential again. It looked like Erik ten Hag gets the best out of him. We won’t be surprised if he keeps getting better and better from here. Luke Shaw is another player who’s back to his absolute best since Ten Hag arrived. It’s no surprise both players scored a goal in this match. Casemiro opened the score in a game that was won with 3-0 by Man United.

Crystal Palace versus Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur lost on the weekend and it looked like Antonio Conte was on the hot seat. The first half against Crystal Palace was very poor from Spurs’ side. They managed to turn things around in the second half. Goals by Kane (2), Doherty and Son led to a very good 0-4 victory.

Chelsea versus Manchester City

The final match of this round was the battle between Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea isn’t in their best season with a 10th place. Manchester City saw the perfect opportunity to close the gap with Arsenal to five points. A goal by Riyad Mahrez in the second half decided this match in the advantage of Manchester City. Free bets played on a Man City win paid out in the end!
