Sanchez and Pogba at United

3 Issues facing Solskjaer at United next season

Last season was a huge disappointment for Manchester United- they started their league campaign with title hopes yet couldn’t even make it to the Top 4 by the end. Solskjaer’s arrival saw a momentary lift in spirit and performances but their levels dipped and they slumped to a disappointing 6th league position.

A big challenge awaits Solskjaer this year to improve United’s league position and make them competitive again. They are making big signings this summer and you can bet your money by going to points-promo-code.com that they will at least secure Champions League football this time.

1-    Pogba’s Future

Several reports are suggesting that Paul Pogba isn’t happy at Old Trafford and wants a move out of the club. It is said that the World Cup winner is frustrated with the Red Devils’ failure to compete for major trophies. Real Madrid and Juventus are reported to be interested in signing him at the moment.

Pogba is a supremely talented midfielder who has been giving good performances for his side. However, the French International has been receiving some heavy criticisms for his lack of discipline and respect for the manager.

Manchester United could struggle without Pogba’s brilliance, yet Solskjaer shouldn’t rule out a sale if the right bid comes in for him. If United get more than £150 million, then that money could help fund moves for other midfielders and centre-backs they need now.

2-    Defensive Woes at United

The defense is the weakest area of Manchester United at the moment, so Solskjaer must make some special arrangement to address this problem. They conceded a record 54 goals last season and the primary blame goes to their centre-backs.

Victor Lindelof initially endured a rocky start, though now his good displays have warranted his place in Solskjaer’s first team. However, he needs a good partner and neither Chris Smalling nor Phil Jones looks suitable considering their performances in the last season. Eric Bailly has also lost his initial promise and he struggled for form last year.

Solskjaer must strengthen his defense by signing a good defender from another club. If United manages to bring in someone like Harry Maguire or Toby Alderweireld, then we can expect their defensive woes to lessen a great deal.

3-    Alexis Sanchez

All United supporters celebrated when they won the race over their rivals Manchester City for the signing of Alexis Sanchez. Although he hasn’t been a source of any happiness for the club who has been bearing such a big amount in wages for his services. Since his move to Manchester, he has been able to score only 3 league goals and that is very poor for a player of his stature.
