Martinez at Newcastle

3 favorites for Newcastle’s next manager

Mike Ashley has the reputation of a miser when it comes to spending in the transfer market. Rafa Benitez, who won the Champions League trophy with Liverpool, left Newcastle after many frustrations in the transfer windows. The club’s star forwards Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon also left following their manager’s departure.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the club is in a state of crisis at the moment. So, betting your money through betting-universe.com on Newcastle’s survival in the league won’t be a very wise decision this year.

1-    Roberto Martinez

If Newcastle is aiming for a tried and tested person, then Roberto Martinez is their man, a manager who possesses a wealth of experience having held the managerial position at several clubs. He is currently fulfilling his commitments at Belgium, though if Newcastle comes calling, he might be tempted to put aside his present duties and pack his bags for England again. The most memorable moment of his career was the shock FA Cup victory with Wigan that greatly improved his standing as a football manager.

His next stint at an English football club brought more disappointment than success, and Everton was quick to end his contract after he failed to take the club to the next level. His experience in England’s top flight and the attractive brand of his football will be very appealing features for Newcastle.

2-    Jose Mourinho

The Toon fans would welcome with both arms if Jose Mourinho decides to test his skills in the Premier League once again. Mourinho ‘s stocks fell significantly when Manchester United sacked him last season for delivering such a dismal start. However, he still is a very popular manager in the world. The serial winner has proven his mettle in several countries and top leagues, especially in the Premier League he has been phenomenal.

Although this dream appointment is very unlikely whilst Mike Ashley is at the club. Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley didn’t pour enough money to satisfy the wishes of Rafa Benitez and that will probably be the same policy if Mourinho comes at the club.

3-    Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce is also a top favorite candidate for landing this lucrative job. Though his time in the Premier League has been far from impressive, he is regarded as an expert if a club wishes to get promoted to the next division.
