Now the transfer window closed and the dust has settled it’s time to make up the balance for a new Premier League season. In this article I share my 2019-2020 Premier League top 6 predictions. I will start with the team that finishes in 6th place and end of course with the winner of the upcoming football season.
2019-2020 Premier League top 6 predictions
6. Manchester United
The Red Devils are in decline over the last couple of seasons. They eventually finished 6th last season and I can’t see them make any progress. They went out on the market to strengthen their defence with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, but the rest of the team pretty much remained the same. Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera left the club, which will mean their front line is weaker than it was. Therefore I can only see them finishing in 6th place this season.
5. Chelsea
The Blues lost their star player in Eden Hazard, who moved to Real Madrid, and changed their manager Maurizio Sarri for Frank Lampard. The former Chelsea player managed Derby County last season and has the support of the fanbase. With the transfer ban, Chelsea will lean much on youth academy graduates. It’s going to be very interesting to see how they will perform.
4. Arsenal
The Gunners have some horrible seasons behind them and there was a start of a riot by the fans. All of a sudden they announced the transfer of Pepe and everything turned around. On the last day of the transfer market they bought David Luiz to bring some quality at the back. I don’t think they are already good enough to challenge for the title, but they will make it to the top 4 this season. When qualifying for the Champions League, they will be able to built on this transfer window.
3. Tottenham Hotspur
The Spurs finished second after a strange season, waiting for their stadium to be done. Now they will play all their home matches in the new stadium. With the entrance of Ndombele and Lo Celso, their squad is improved. I think they will be the first team to finish behind the top 2 this season, but they won’t challenge for the title until the end of the season.
2. Liverpool
The Reds won the opener of this Premier League season after a convincing first half against Norwich City. The game finished in a 4-1 victory for Liverpool, but there is a serious problem with the injury of Allison Becker. I expect Liverpool to go all the way again with Manchester City this season.
1. Manchester City
The Cityzens won the last two Premier League titles and I expect them to complete their hat-trick this season. There haven’t been much changes in their squad and I believe they’ve still got the best squad in the Premier League. Therefore Man City will win their third consecutive Premier League title.
